Who makes and designs Sandover-Sly Jewelry?

All jewelry is hand made by Megan Sandover-Sly; who grew up on British Columbia's coast. She holds a B. of Fine Arts -Film from Ryerson University & a Certificate of Business Administration from University of Victoria. At Ryerson her main focus was on art direction/set decor and wardrobe. She also does all the photography for Sandover-Sly Jewelry. She has also worked at a rock and mineral store where she learnt a lot about identifying stones, pearls, etc. for quality and authentication.

Do you do wholesale orders?

Yes, certainly. I have a set price system depending on what type of jewelry you need. Please contact me for details. Along with your business name and what type of jewelry you want to buy. I do have a minimum order. Keep in mind each piece is unique.

Do you do custom orders?

Definitely! I love to cater to clients whenever possible and do not necessarily charge any higher then a piece I have pre-made. Just e-mail me a note with your ideas on: colour, size specifications, ect. Please inform me of metal allergies.

Care of jewelry:

To prolong the life of your jewellery and to keep the piece looking beautiful I recommend not showering or swimming while wearing your jewelry. Sunscreen, perfumes and other lotions can also affect the life of your jewelry.

Where does the sea glass and beach pottery come from?

All the sea glass is collected on the West Coast of Canada by Megan Sandover-Sly. Seaglass is also known as beach glass, surf glass, mermaid's tears and ocean tumbled glass. It is glass found on beaches along oceans, bays, rivers, gullies or large lakes that has been tumbled and smoothed by the waves, water, sand and stone creating smooth, frosted shards of glass. Beach pottery is shards of pottery tumbled and smoothed in the same way. Pieces with patterns, intact coloured glazes and embossing are prize by collectors.

Why are the prices set as they are?

It depends upon the rarity of the sea glass, which takes into consideration; the colour, size and type of material the sea glass comes from. The quality of the gemstones and the metal findings used are also taken into account when pricing my work is. As well the quantity of sea glass, time spent drilling the sea glass & crafting the piece is also important to note.
